Currently seeking a Senior Communications Specialist
Contract: 48 weeks
Position Summary Description
Duties will include:
  • Coordinate all DAPA social media and web content
  • Draft plans for various social media campaigns
  • Prepare various social media and web strategy and planning documents.
  • Update and publish content to social media (including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Flickr, Instagram)
  • Prepare analytic data using tools appropriate for social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Flickr, Instagram
  • Update and publish web pages using WIM (TeamSite CMS).
  • Assist with the management of web analytic data using Google Analytics or WebTrends and produce various reports as required
  • Prepare various social media and web strategy and planning documents.
  • Research and document relevant social media best practices.
  • Prepare communications products and tools, as required
  • Hours are 0800-1600 weekdays with two 15 minute paid breaks and 30 minute unpaid lunch breaks
  • Overtime may be assigned as required
  • May be required to travel within Canada
Project Tasks
Requirements / experience (mandatories)
  1. Must clearly demonstrate 5 years’ experience including recent experience* researching, editing and posting content, including video and still imagery, to professional social media channels including using all the following social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Flickr, Instagram
  2. Must clearly demonstrate 5 years’ experience using social media for communications purposes, including monitoring of platforms, moderating of comments, answering follower questions and other user engagement activities as well as creating analytical usage reports.
  3. Must clearly demonstrate 2 years’ experience with recent experience* maintaining and updating content on Internet sites.
  4. Must clearly demonstrate recent experience* in providing communications support to Government of Canada.
  5. Recent experience* in the planning, executing and evaluation of communications strategies for web and social media platforms.
  6. Must have a valid government of Canada Reliability security clearance
