Our Government client is seeking a Senior Business Architect to assist the IM/IT team in implementing a data management (DM) program that will help develop a Data Management policy and governance and help develop an enterprise data model.
 
 
Contract:  10 months, plus 1 additional option year
 
 
Project Tasks:
 
  • Develop policies and rules that allow the department to carry out its mandate and functional responsibilities, and that govern the department's actual and planned capabilities in terms of Open Data and information management responsibilities;
  • Develop the specifications for where, how and why the various organizational components fit together as they do, and how they support the organization's mandate;
  • Structure the enterprise in terms of its governance structure, business processes, and business information;
  • Align strategic goals and objectives with decisions regarding services, partners, organization; capabilities; and key business, IT initiatives and document them;
  • Structured business architecture approach and methodology for capturing the key views of the enterprise;
  • Capture the tactical and strategic enterprise goals that provide traceability through the organization and are mapped to metrics that provide ongoing governance.
  • Perform in a cost-effective and practical approach through a responsive framework. This framework must articulate the current state, target state and migration paths for key components of the business technology environment in order to support of long and short-term business goals and objectives;
  • Perform and document the policies and governing standards and modeling using various EA tools.
  • Document and model the architecture using IMB's standard methodology of iterative development and tools including but not limited to Sparx Enterprise Architect), IGC, and following architecture principles of TOGAF)
  • Applications will be architected, where feasible, to be mobile-enabled to support the organization's workforce
 
 
Requirements / experience (mandatories):
 
  • MUST have experience in Business Architecture (including business process review, service definition, user engagement, governance structure, communications and user support), within the Federal, Municipal, Provincial Government and/or private sector.
  • MUST have 72 months eliciting business requirements then building models showing the relationship between business sectors and Information Technology within the Federal, Provincial, Municipal government and/or private sector.
  • MUST have a minimum of 10 years of experience (or over 5 years with a recognized professional certification) integrating business processes with data analytics, information and human resources within the Federal, Provincial, or Municipal governments and/or private sectors.
  • MUST have at least 36 months of experience within the last 10 years in implementing IM/IT policies, practices and standards within the Federal, Provincial, or Municipal governments and/or private sectors.
  • MUST have a minimum of 12 months of experience in metadata management.
