Database Administrator (DBA) Level 3

Currently seeking a Senior Database Administrator
Our Government client has a requirement for a Level 3 Database Administrator who will form part of the Data Specialists team for this digital transformation project. The purpose of this project is to develop and implement a business intelligence strategy that will establish an over-arching business information architecture, defining the nature, structure, and content the business;  identify and pursue business opportunities of improving processes, services, knowledge that better management of data make possible; and implement data analytics tools and methods, such as Business Intelligence (BI), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Big Data.
Contract:   1 year
Project Tasks:
The tasks to be performed include but are not limited to the following:
  • Customize database conversion routines.
  • Finalize Conversion Strategy.
  • Generate new database with the client.
  • Maintain data dictionaries.
  • Develop and implement procedures that will ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of data stored in the database.
  • Develop and implement security procedures for the database, including access and user account management.
  • Advise programmers, analysts, and users about the efficient use of data.
  • Maintain configuration control of the database.
  • Perform and/or coordinate updates to the database design.
  • Control and coordinate changes to the database, including the deletion of records, changes to the existing records, and additions to the database.
  • Develop and coordinate back-up, disaster recovery and virus protection procedures.

Requirements / experience (mandatories):
  • Must demonstrate at least 120 months (10 years) experience, within the last 180 months (15 years), providing database administrator services.
  • Must have  obtained a University or College degree in IM/IT
Assets (rated requirements):
  • The Database Administrator Level 3 should have a professional certification in their field, meaning the focus of the certification pertains to database administration, the certification was granted by a professional society or educational institute, the requirements of the certification were successfully met, and the certification is in good standing.
  • Work experience over and above the 120 months required in the mandatory criteria
  • Experience on projects using SQL and/or Oracle
Security Clearance: MUST hold a valid Reliability clearance.
