Senior Platform Analyst

Location: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

Currently seeking a Senior Platform Analyst
Contract: Through March 31, 2020 with 3 possible extensions
Position Summary Description
The Agency is in the midst of a significant transformation process to migrate from a legacy application architecture oriented around custom development towards a future-state architecture centred around commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) platforms and developed with service-oriented architecture (SOA) and interoperability principles in mind.
As part of this transformation, a number of legacy applications have been identified as candidates for decommissioning, where the functionality they provide today must be rationalized and migrated to the future-state architecture.
Analysis is required to inventory the functional capabilities and data entities provided by each existing application and rationalize them into a single set of common business and information services.  A conceptual solution architecture based on SOA principles must then be developed to overlay these services on top of the Agency’s target architecture.  This design must identify which services will be implemented on which COTS platforms and which services will be exposed on the Agency’s Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), implemented using Oracle SOA Suite 11g.  A release plan must then be developed to detail the schedule for decommissioning each legacy application whose function is being transitioned to the new architecture.
